Research laboratories
The scientific research at the ENSSMAL is coordinated by two national research laboratories established on March 16, 2011, i.e., the Laboratory of Conservation and Valorization of Marine Resources (CVRM) and the Laboratory of Marine and Coastal Ecosystems (ECOSYSMarL).
These two complementary laboratories are designed to organize and develop scientific research within the context of the implementation of the ENSSMAL's study and research/training program.
These two laboratories succeeded in the activities and the hardware and human heritage of the former research laboratory entitled "Environment, Development, and Coastal Ecosystems," which was created in 2000 and dissolved in 2006 following its cessation of activity due to the 2003 earthquake, which damaged its facilities. Currently, both laboratories are based at the marine research station of ENSSMAL, located in Sidi-Fredj.
